13107   MOSAIC: The Work of the Muses            Was £12.50: NOW £6.95

Gabriella Fiorucci, self published, 2000, 144pp, illus throughout mainly in colour, paperback

18020     ROMAN WOODCHESTER Was £3.50: NOW £1.95

Rev. John Cull, Woodchester/Pitkin, 2000, 32pp, 55 colour illus, booklet
The famous Orpheus Roman Mosaic at Woodchester is sadly buried under the village churchyard and has rarely seen the light of day.  This booklet has many interesting and historic views of the mosaic taken on those rare occasions when it has been uncovered.  The text is simple but adequate and underlines the mosaic’s importance.

13056                  IL MOSAICO DI FERRUCCIO FERRAZZI NELLA CHIESA DI S. ANTONIO IN  TARANTO    Was £19.50: NOW £9.50

Cosimo Fornaro, Schena Editore, Italy, 1987, Italian text, 95pp, 28 full page colour + 5 b&w illus, cloth
The Modernist mosaic by Ferruccio Ferrazzi for the Church of St Anthony in Taranto, Italy.  Created in 1968 - 1971, this mosaic is his largest and most powerful work.

16042    PHILADELPHIA’S MAGIC GARDENS   Was £6.99: NOW £3.49

Isaiah Zagar, Open Eyes Press, USA, 1999, 24pp, 12 colour illus, 1 map, paperback
A guide to the astonishing mosaics created by the author in his adopted hometown of Philadelphia, USA.  Although reminiscent of La Maison de Picassiette and Watts Towers, there is a striking quality of sense-in-confusion to Zagar’s monumental works which sets them apart from such outsider art.  Recommended!

16053    PICASSIETTE, Le Jardin d’Assiettes     Was £39.50: NOW £19.50

Paul Fuks, Ides et Calendes, Switzerland, 1992, French text, 126pp, 63 colour + 10 b & w illus, cloth, dustwrapper, plain slip case
La Maison Picassiette will be familiar to many of our mosaic friends.  This is a superb study of the work of Raymond Isidore, detailing the dreams and ideas which gave him the inspiration for his tour-de-force of ‘outsider art’.  The illustrations are excellent and do justice to the strange beauty of Isidore’s work.

02056    BACKYARD MOSAICS    Was £10.99: NOW £5.99

Connie Sheerin, Sterling, USA, 2002, 128pp, paperback

03061 CREATIVE MOSAICS    Was£16.99: NOW: £7.99

Monica Cresci & Chiara di Pinto, Sterling, USA, 2000, 160pp, fully illus in colour throughout, boards

S. Donnelly, North Light Books, USA, 2001, 128pp, fully illus in colour , paperback.

13058  MOSAICS IN AN AFTERNOON    Was £16.99: NOW £7.99

Connie Sheerin, Sterling, USA, 1999, 112pp, fully illus in colour, boards
First we had Mosaics in a Weekend, now it seems, we can do it in an afternoon but the projects in this book would benefit from taking a little more time!
