This book is the culmination of nearly 30 years of study into British tiles and has taken three years to collate and write. The first two volumes cover over 100 commercial manufacturers such as Carter & Co., Pilkington's Tiles, Packard and Ord and H. & R. Johnson Ltd. as well as a whole host of smaller companies. The third volume covers craft and studio tilemakers, including Bernard Leach, Maggie Berkowitz and Eleanor Greeves. For each company or tilemaker, there is a section on identification and marks, making this the most comprehensive guide to British tiles ever written. With over 800 pages and 3200 colour illustrations, this is the definitive work on the subject.
